                    George G. Wood, 73, well known valley farmer and Bitter Root native, died Monday morning at Daly hospital. He had been under a doctor’s care for three years, and had been in and out of the hospital many times. Funeral arrangements are pending word from out-of-town relatives. Burial will be in the family plot in Corvallis cemetery, where his parents, two brothers and two sisters are buried.

                    Mr. Wood was born Nov. 27, 1878, on the old homestead six miles northeast of Corvallis. He was one of nine children. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. John F. Wood, came across the plains in 1875 to homestead in the valley. George Wood lived on the old farm all his life, except for a short time spent in Missouri. While there he met and married Alice Eddings in Rogersville, Mo., Dec. 31, 1899, and brought her to the Bitter Root. He and Mrs. Wood were active in the Corvallis Methodist church.

                    Survivors, besides the widow, are four daughters, Mrs. F. A. Robins, Corvallis; Mrs. Etta Simmons, Victor; Mrs. June Mane Schrader, Missoula; and Mrs. Elva Srader, Bermerton, Wash.; sister, Mrs. Lula B. Brooks, Corvallis; Mrs. Rilla Sherry, Helena; and Mrs. Hattie Sheldon, Grants Pass, Ore.; brother, Alfred, Wood Corvallis; six grandchildren and one greatgrandchild. Mrs. Shifton will be unable to attend the funeral. Word has not been received from other distant relatives.
